Sarah Ley

Sarah grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona and received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a major in Marketing, from the University of Arizona (after only 3 ½ years of study) in December 1990.  Upon graduation, Sarah co-founded a local Tucson retail coffee business, called Not Just Java, with her husband Juan. The couple owned and operated Not Just Java for 10 years, and finally decided to sell the business in 2002, as Sarah was more interested in pursuing her real estate career.

Sarah became a licensed Realtor in 1999. She began her real estate career by selling homes on her cul-de-sac in Oro Valley- Mallard Head Place, where she has sold eight homes to date. Sarah earned her ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative) designation in July of 2001. She then received the designation of Certified New Home Sales Associate (CNHSA) from the Southern Arizona Home Builder’s Association in December of 2003. Sarah has experience in selling new construction, and to date, she has sold three new home subdivisions for local Tucson builders. In October 2004, Sarah obtained the coveted Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation, which only the top 5% of Residential Realtors nationwide possess. The CRS designation is awarded to Realtors who have completed a rigorous course of training, and who meet significant real estate transaction and experience requirements. Throughout her 11 year real estate career, Sarah has participated in over 275 real estate transactions, representing an average of 25 Tucson home buyers and sellers per year.

Sarah has been married to Juan Ley, a Tucson Certified Financial Planner with Morgan Stanley, since 1993. She has two children, Mara, 14 and Daniel, 12. Sarah’s children attend Orange Grove Middle School, and are active in swimming, marital arts, and tennis. Additionally, Sarah is involved in local community fund raising events, and is a patron member of the Long Realty Cares Foundation. She is a senior associate with Long Realty Company, and has been with Long Realty since January of 2001. Sarah’s interests include hiking our beautiful Tucson trails, swimming, travelling, and activities with her family.

Sarah decided to start a blog because two of her passions are writing and photography. This is Sarah’s second blog. The first blog was a great learning experience, but it wasn’t as good as Sarah wanted it to be. Thanks to one of the biggest local real estate bloggers, Dave Smith, Sarah gained inspiration about the type of blog she thought people would want to read.
